Positive Sensory Experiences versus Negative Sensory Experiences

Positive Sensory Experiences versus Negative Sensory Experiences

I've just realised what the majority of the tools in my toolbox are doing. They are creating positive sensory experiences.

Because when you have a psychosis it is one big negative sensory experience: the hearing of things, the hallucinations, the paranoia, the disorganised thinking. It's one negative experience after another.

And you and your brain just can't trust each other no more.

But by creating positive sensory experiences (see the blog Devices and Techniques I use to stay well) you are creating positive moments daily. And you start to trust your brain again and the brain begins to trust you.

So post psychosis (aka negative sensory experience) start creating positive sensory experiences daily.

And watch your brain trust you once more.

It will thank you.
